The House Dressing

Tonight we’re having leftover steak. I’ll have mine in a salad, topped with the house dressing. There’s always a jar of this in the fridge, and it’s great on salads, vegetables, and even on steak.

The recipe changes every time I make it, depending on my mood, and what’s in the cupboard. Use the following as a guideline, and vary the seasonings to your taste.

House Dressing

  • 1-1/2 tsp salt (or less)
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice or vinegar
  • 3/4 cup oil (I use a mixture of olive and grapeseed)

Add all ingredients to a jar, and shake to mix. Store leftovers in the fridge, and it should keep for a couple of weeks (if it lasts that long!)
