Weekly Meal Plan 20160507

We survived our busy schedule last week, and are looking forward to a quieter time this week. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day, so I’ll put one of my favourites on the meal plan – Pork Chops with Apples. That shouldn’t be too hard for Keith to make, and maybe we’ll even have a dessert too!

I’ve got Bean and Bacon Soup on the list for Thursday, and if we’re not in the mood to make that, we can just go with Beans & Wieners!

The Weekly Plan

Here is our plan for the week starting Sunday, May 08, 2016. There are links for some recipes, and others are made “freestyle”.

Sunday — Pork Chops with Apples

Monday Steak with Roasted Vegetables and Mustard Pan Sauce

Tuesday Grilled Lemon Chicken with Feta Rice

Wednesday Cherry Tomato Pasta

Thursday Bean and Bacon Soup

Friday – Peameal Bacon

Saturday — Chicken Thighs in Hot Sauce

How It Actually Went

Here’s what we actually had this week. We stayed pretty close to the plan, but used pork tenderloin, instead of a pork chop. The rib eye steak came from the freezer, and I think it had been in there a bit too long, because it was pretty tough. Tasty, but chewy.

Keith was travelling on Thursday, so he just wanted a delivery pizza, instead of having either of us cook something – not even beans and wieners! Anyway, even when we go off of the plan, we’re still glad to have things outlined at the beginning of the week. It takes away from the daily meal planning stress.

Sunday — Pork Tenderloin with Apples

Monday — Rib eye steak

Tuesday — Grilled Lemon Chicken with Wild Rice

Wednesday — Cherry Tomato Pasta

Thursday — Pizza

Friday — Peameal Bacon

Saturday — Chicken Thighs in Hot Sauce
