Weekly Meal Plan 20160521

It’s a long weekend, for Victoria Day, and it looks like the weather might be pretty good. We’ve bought a few plants for the back yard, so we’ll do some gardening over the next few days.  Our canopy is fixed too, after it buckled under the snow this winter, so we’ll have a shady spot to sit and relax.

We’re having burgers tonight (from last week’s menu), and then we’ll start on this week’s plan. Happy Victoria Day weekend!

The Weekly Plan

Here is our plan for the week starting Sunday, May 22, 2016. There are links for some recipes, and others are made “freestyle”. There is a picture below, from a previous time that we made the scallops recipe.

Sunday — Veal Scaloppini

Monday Peppery Maple Chicken (we’ll use tarragon instead of rosemary)

Tuesday Paprika Pork Chops With Spinach (picture below)

Wednesday Cajun Dirty Rice

Thursday — Tortellini

Friday — Peameal Bacon

Saturday Scallops With Carrots and Leeks (picture below)

How It Actually Went

Here’s what we actually had this week. Our granddaughter was here on Friday and Saturday nights, so we cooked a couple of her favourites, instead of sticking to the plan. But fish and chips is almost the same as scallops with carrots and leeks, right? 😉

Sunday — Veal Scaloppini

Monday — Peppery Maple Chicken

Tuesday – Rib-eye Steak

Wednesday — Cajun Dirty Rice

Thursday — Paprika Pork Chops With Spinach (picture below)

Friday — Fish & Chips

Saturday — Tortellini

Scallops With Carrots and Leeks

This picture is from a previous time that we had this scallops recipe. Unfortunately, we didn’t get around to making it this week.

Paprika Pork Chops With Spinach

Here’s the pork chop dinner that I made on Thursday.  Keith got all the ingredients ready, and I cooked it. The pork chops were thinner than the ones in the recipe, so they were a bit overdone, but still tasty!
