Weekly Meal Plan 20160903

Hooray, it’s a long weekend! Prime rib was on sale this week, so we’ll cook one tomorrow, and have leftovers on Monday. We have appointments on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I’ve planned easy dinners for those days.

The White Bean Soup can go into the slow cooker in the morning, and it’s been a long time since we had that. There’s a picture below, from the last time I made it.

We haven’t had the Chicken Thighs recipe for a few years either, and based on my blog post, we both enjoyed it last time. Our granddaughter will be here on Saturday, so we’ll have one of her favourites that night.

How It Actually Went

Here’s what we actually had this week – we stuck to the plan for the entire week! Everything went well, and tasted delicious. The bean soup was as good as we remembered, and was great for lunch the next day too.

The only problem was on Friday, while I was making the sauce for the Chicken Thighs. The top fell off of the salt shaker, while I was adding a “dash of salt”, and I’m not sure how much ended up in the bowl. There was salt all over the counter too, so I poured out the sauce, and started over.
