Weekly Meal Plan 20161022

We’re having a prime rib roast tonight, so there should be leftovers for Sunday’s supper too. Then, whatever bits are left, can go into the pasta on Tuesday night.

The baked chicken legs recipe is one of my favourites, and we haven’t had it for over a year. The house fills with garlic smell, so shut the bedroom doors before you make this, or you’ll dream about garlic all night!

The ham jambalaya is another recipe that we haven’t had for a long time – I put that recipe on this blog in 2008! It looks perfect for a cool fall evening, so I’ll let you know how it turns out.

The Weekly Plan

Here is our plan for the week starting Sunday, Oct 23, 2016. There are links for some recipes, and others are made “freestyle”.

Sunday — Prime Rib

Monday Saucy Baked Chicken Legs With Olives and Tomatoes

Tuesday Pasta With Steak Strips (picture below)

Wednesday — Beans & Wieners

Thursday — Meatloaf, Melt in Your Mouth

Friday Spicy Ham Jambalaya

Saturday — Quesadillas

How It Actually Went

Here’s what we actually had this week – this might be the first time that we’ve totally stuck to the plan! And it turned out that Tuesday was National Pasta Day, so that was the perfect choice for our supper that night.

Keith made most of the meals, and I cooked the Ham Jambalaya, after he prepped all the ingredients. That dish was filling, and tasted good, but not great. I saved some of the leftovers, and will definitely splash some hot sauce onto it, before eating it.
