Weekly Meal Plan 20161029

Our slow cooker will get a good workout this week, if we stick to the meal plan! It’s nice to get the meal ready in the morning though, so there’s very little to do at supper time. The only hard part is smelling the delicious food all afternoon.

The Cranberry Pork Chops, Turkey Breast With Gravy, and Garlic Lemon Shrimp are all new recipes, but they look fairly easy. We’ll see how it goes!

The Weekly Plan

Here is our plan for the week starting Sunday, Oct 30, 2016. There are links for some recipes, and others are made “freestyle”.

Sunday Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Monday Garlic Lemon Shrimp

Tuesday Chicken Thighs in Hot Sauce

Wednesday Cranberry Pork Chops (picture below)

Thursday — Tortellini

Friday Slow Cooker Turkey Breast With Gravy

Saturday — Peameal Bacon

How It Actually Went

Here’s what we actually had this week – we had most of the meals on the plan, with a couple of changes. The Garlic Lemon Shrimp was delicious, with a bit of spice from the cumin. Keith said it was easy to cook, and he served it with a bit of pasta.

The Cranberry Pork Chops were delicious too, and I made the gravy on the stovetop, after they finished cooking. There is a picture below – it’s a bad picture, but it’s the only one that I took of our meals this week!

The turkey breast was okay, but not great, and I was very disappointed in the gravy that I made at the end. We might try another turkey breast in the future, but will roast it, instead of using the slow cooker.
