Weekly Meal Plan 20161126

The Grey Cup game is tomorrow (Canadian football championship), so we’ll be having our traditional chili dinner that night. Keith will get it started in the slow cooker in the morning, and the house will smell wonderful all day long.

The Garlic Lemon Shrimp got bumped off the menu last week, so I’ve put it on again this week. We’re heading into the busy holiday season, so there aren’t any new recipes. Let’s keep things simple in the kitchen, while we’re busy everywhere else!

The Weekly Plan

How It Actually Went

Here’s what we actually had this week – we had 3 of the planned meals, and improvised on the other nights.

I made the chili in our Instant Pot (a multi-function cooker), and that turned out really well. I sautéed the onions and meat in there first, then added the other ingredients, and turned it to the slow cooker setting. That makes much less clean up, and a delicious meal.

We finally had the garlic lemon shrimp, and it was just as good as it was the first time. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the dish is a little spicy, but not too much.

The Instant Pot was used again on Saturday, to make the Swiss Steak. It’s very easy to use, after you’ve made a couple of things, and I’m really glad we bought it.
