Weekly Meal Plan 20170114

We’ve both with sick recently, with head colds and bronchitis, so nobody felt much like cooking or eating. Things are getting better though, so maybe we’ll follow this week’s meal plan.

There are three dishes that we haven’t had for a long time, so I’ve put them on the menu to shake things up a bit. The Saucy Hamburger Crumble is really simple to make – just ground beef in its own gravy. The Perogy Ham Casserole is a 4-ingredient recipe, so it will be easy too.

The other recipe that we haven’t had recently is the Halibut on Spinach. We’ll see if Keith goes for it, or decides to make something else. We don’t have a very good record for fish recipes!

How It Actually Went

Here’s what we actually ate this week. We had one of the “not had recently” recipes, but the other two fell off of the menu. I made the Saucy Hamburger Crumble (picture below) on Tuesday, and it was quick and easy, and makes its own gravy, so that’s a plus! It was pretty bland though, so I’ve added a note to include more spices and seasoning if we make it again.

Keith couldn’t find any halibut on Thursday (or so he says!), so we had veal instead. Friday, we were in the mood for steak, instead of the perogy ham casserole.
