Weekly Meal Plan 20170311

The time changes to Daylight Saving Time overnight, so that might throw off our supper schedule for a couple of days. Will we be hungry at the usual time? And it’s March Break for the school kids, so let’s take a break from cooking complicated meals too.

This week, I’ve put Pizza on the menu for Tuesday, because that is March 14th – Pi Day! Then, to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Friday, we’ll have Corned Beef and Cabbage, done in the Slow Cooker. Or, we can switch it to Saturday, for a late celebration.

The Weekly Plan

Here is our plan for the week starting Sunday, Mar 12, 2017. There are links for some recipes, and others are made “freestyle”.

Sunday — Fish & chips

Monday — Spaghetti with meat sauce

Tuesday — Pizza

Wednesday — Peameal Bacon

Thursday — Beans & Wieners

Friday Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Saturday — Tortellini

How It Actually Went

Here’s what we actually had this week. We had most of the items on the menu, but switched the days around a bit. And, instead of Tortellini and beans & wieners, we had burgers and prime rib. Our little visitor enjoyed all the meals, and especially liked the early birthday cake that we had on Wednesday night, to end our meal of burgers and fries. She blew out all 7 candles with a single breath!

We cooked the Corned Beef and Cabbage on St. Patrick’s Day, but it was a little on the tough side, so we didn’t enjoy it as much as usual. Maybe next year we’ll get a better one.
