Weekly Meal Plan 20170325

This week’s meal plan is mainly old favourites, including the peameal bacon that we’ll have on Friday. Keith found it on sale, so it’s all sliced up and waiting in the freezer.

We’ve had the Pork with Prosciutto before, and the recipe link goes to my blog post in December 2009. We enjoyed it then, and said we’d definitely have it again, but it’s been quite a while!

We’ve only had the Ginger Beef once before, in February, and we enjoyed it then. It smells wonderful while cooking, and the leftovers tasted great the next day. There is a picture below, to show how it looks. We have a bag of julienned carrots in the fridge, so I’ll use those this time.

The Weekly Plan

Here is our plan for the week starting Sunday, Mar 26, 2017. There are links for some recipes, and others are made “freestyle”.

Sunday — Chicken, roasted

Monday — Tortellini

Tuesday Pork With Prosciutto, Sweet Potatoes and Pears

Wednesday Ginger Beef Stir Fry

Thursday Quick & Creamy Chicken Stew

Friday — Peameal Bacon

Saturday — Burgers

How It Actually Went

Here’s what we actually had this week. We stuck to the plan from Sunday to Wednesday, and everything turned out great. I even made gravy on Sunday, to go with the roasted chicken! That gave us some nice leftovers for lunches too.

On Thursday, Keith thawed out the frozen ribs that he bought on the last trip to Costco, and baked those. Then, on Friday, he made the crunchy Chili Chicken, but baked it for 15 minutes in the oven, at 400°F, instead of pan frying it. Delicious!
