Weekly Meal Plan 20170408

There’s one new recipe in the plan for this week – Cheesy Baked Gnocchi with Kale. Everybody likes kale, right? Especially if it’s coated with cheese sauce! We’ll see if it gets made or bumped. 😉

The rest of the week is old favourites, and the only difficult thing will be remembering to do our weekend shopping on Thursday. The stores will be closed for Good Friday and Easter Sunday, and they will be packed with frantic shoppers on Saturday. If you need Easter eggs, buy them now!

The Weekly Plan

Here is our plan for the week starting Sunday, Apr 09, 2017. There are links for some recipes, and others are made “freestyle”.

Sunday Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Monday Pork Tenderloin in Lemon Sauce

Tuesday Cornmeal Chicken with Peach Salsa (cook in the oven, like Panko Crusted Chicken)

Wednesday Ground Beef and Potato Scallop

Thursday Cheesy Baked Gnocchi with Kale

Friday — Beans & Wieners

Saturday Saucy Baked Chicken Legs With Olives And Tomatoes

How It Actually Went

Here’s what we actually had this week – we went way off the plan, but had some delicious meals anyway. The Swiss steak from Sunday tasted great, and there was enough for leftovers on Monday.

Keith went to Kingston on Tuesday, and was too tired to cook, so we ordered a pizza that night. I made the pork tenderloin on Wednesday, which is a tasty dinner, and low calorie too.

Then, Keith found ribeye steaks on sale, so he grilled those on Thursday night. I’m glad it’s barbecue season again! We had a big lunch on Friday, so just had a snack for supper, and finished the week with burgers on Saturday.
