Weekly Meal Plan 20170715

There are four new recipes this week – I was looking through my latest magazines last night, and got inspired! Three of the recipes are from the Food Network magazine, and one is from Taste of Home. I’ve linked to the online recipes, so we can follow the instructions there.

None of the recipes look too complicated, at least at first glance. And they all look delicious and summery, so I hope we try them! We’ll see how it goes, and I’ll update this list at the end of the week, as usual.

The Weekly Plan

Here is our plan for the week starting Sunday, Jul 16, 2017. There are links for some recipes, and others are made “freestyle”.

Sunday Pasta Carbonara With Mushrooms

Monday Grecian Chicken (picture below)

Tuesday Pork Medallions with Grainy Mustard Sauce

Wednesday Soba Noodle Soup with Roast Beef (picture below)

Thursday BLT Quinoa Bowls

Friday — Pizza

Saturday Lemon Shrimp Scampi with Artichokes

How It Actually Went

Here’s what we actually had this week. We tried two of the new recipes, and the other two fell off the schedule.

We weren’t too hungry on Monday, so we had sandwiches, and moved the Grecian Chicken to Tuesday. I made that, and it was tasty, but I wouldn’t rush to make it again. (picture below)

We picked up Chinese food on Wednesday, while shopping for the Soba Noodle ingredients. So, we had that for supper, and moved the soup to Thursday. The soup took a few steps to make, but it was a nice, light, summer supper, and I would definitely make it again. (picture below)

We’re having the Shrimp Scampi tonight, but Keith found a different recipe (without artichokes), so we’ll have that instead.
